Who knew life would turn out the way it did
Who knew that you’d be happier than you imagined
Only that happiness is short lived.
Taken away, before you get to grasp the whole meaning and feeling of the word, happiness.
Who knew life is more than one or the other.
Who knew life could get so complicated, yet be so simple for others.
Who knew that we’re all meant for suffering, some more than others.
Who knew that the pain of all the sadness, the loneliness, the sorrow could go away
But have it return just when things were looking up.
Who knew that it was hard to let something you want slip off your very hands, your very tightly held grip.
And who said it was the way to go, “if you want something let it go”
I knew what I was getting into…yet decided to keep the consequences in my blindspot, keep it hidden. But when it finally surfaced into vision, it was much harder to accept than ever before.
